Who is the training for?

This intensive training is for graduates of the Intermediate Training in Primal Integration who wish to advance their skills and intend to practice as a facilitator of primal-style or deep-feeling work.

The Training

The facilitation of Primal Integration is best learned under supervised practice. In order to create this experiential learning environment, the Advanced training is designed around a 5-day group primal intensive with real clients. This intensive is facilitated by the trainees under supervision of the leaders. The initial Sunday is for sharing, study, preparation, and strategy. Monday through Friday is a real primal intensive. The closing Saturday is for reflection, assessment, and client follow-up planning.

Trainees will have a rich opportunity to apply the theory and facilitation skills acquired during the previous trainings within the ever-changing landscape of real client process. This is not a simulation! This training carries the responsibility of assisting real people with real feeling issues. Constructive critique and development of facilitation will be offered within a team environment and constant supervisory support.

Trainees are required to have a well developed primal process that does not interfere with their clients and the training as a whole. This training is not intended as an opportunity for trainees to explore their own unresolved issues. Since, however, it is responsible for therapists to manage and/or resolve their own feeling issues as they arise, trainees will be supported emotionally during the course of the intensive by the trainee team and the leaders.

To gain admission, trainees are required to pre-register at least one client for the intensive, and the leaders will provide additional clients to create an effective therapist/client ratio. Final admission of clients will be based on biographical material and interviews with the leaders.

Trainees are also required to participate in a trainee email group that will share and discuss client bios, client process, therapeutic strategy, and other issues pertinent to the intensive and the training. This email group will begin one month prior to the training, and extend one month afterward.

The 110 hours certified include 90 hours in residence and 20 hours pre-training preparation and post-training summation.
