Who is the training for?
This intensive training is for those who wish to develop their skills as a facilitator of primal-style or deep-feeling work. It is ideal for:
This training does not require a long history of your own primal work, although that type of experience is always a tremendous asset. Intermediate and advanced training programs are in development.
"This initial training in Primal Integration by Barbara Bryan and Sam Turton was delivered under safe and supportive conditions. The seven days were packed with informative and experiential workshops, under the expert and gentle guidance of the facilitators. As a practicing therapist, I would not hesitate to recommend this training to any person experienced in deep feeling process."
"The first level primal integration training was the most remarkable, valuable and far-reaching process I have ever experienced. The sense of hope and truth about primal psychotherapy is basic to my ongoing work to become a practitioner in this field, as well as a human being. Without question, I will take the next level training as soon as it is offered."
"I would feel comfortable sitting for other people now that I've taken this training."
"February's training in Primal Integration was exceptional. I had been searching for someone to provide this kind of training for over two years, without success. I found and attended this training and was surprised to find that it was more than I had expected. Barbara and Sam were excellent therapists as well as educators, something that is, in itself, hard to find. Most important to me was the fact that they were "real" people. It was immediately apparent to me that they loved the primal process and that they had done their own personal work.
"Barbara and Sam's Initial Training in Primal Integration was a dynamic powerhouse, fully packed with invaluable lectures/written information, and balanced with ample opportunity for hands-on experience and discussion. This was a perfect opportunity for someone who has undergone years of the primal process to begin looking in on things from the outside. It was also suitable for someone who is coming into the process for the first time from more traditionally oriented therapies. It could also be an excellent review process for the more experienced primal therapist. The afternoon supervised "co-therapy" sessions were especially valuable, providing the trainee not only with the opportunity to experience the role of therapist for him or herself, but also allowing the trainee to observe the therapy process from the client perspective. The discussion groups at the end of each therapy session were dynamic and insightful. Barbara and Sam made a wonderful team, each complementing the strengths of the other. I also felt I had the invaluable resource of six other experienced human beings, thanks to the willingness of our leaders to let go and be with the process. I would highly recommend this training to anyone who is considering enriching their own practice and even to those interested in deepening their own primal experience. It was a wonderful, wonderful week."
"I found the primal training with Barbara Bryan and Sam Turton last February
to be an excellent first step in gaining the skills necessary to facilitate
primal therapy. It was a good balance between theory and practice. It was
also a full week of intense experiential learning from the inner work done
through primals facilitated with our classmates.

The group of trainees was also exceptional. All had a deep interest in primal therapy, were feeling people, and all supported one another in very moving ways. There was dedication and a sense of community at all times. I would recommend this training to anyone with a desire to become a therapist. And I would be glad to correspond with anyone who might be interested in attending the October training and would like to talk with me about it. My e-mail address is jimpullaro [at] msn.com. I will, without question, attend the advanced training next year."

I look forward to next year's training as I move forward in my own journey
towards becoming a practitioner. I highly recommend this training to anyone
interested in the field of primal therapy. Together Barbara and Sam hold
years of experience and provide a good mix of skills and knowledge."

The Initial Training will be held at Sam Turton's Primal Integration Centre
and home in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, only 45 minutes from Toronto or 90
minutes from Niagara Falls/Buffalo. (Click here for directions.) Guelph is a vibrant
arts and culture community in the Great Lakes farming country of Southern
Ontario.
Sam's detached, soundproof primal space provides an ideal location for
seminars and workshops, and a safe place for personal work. Accommodations
for the training are dormitory-style, in the main house and attached
apartment. Meals will be held in the dining area of the main house. You'll
feel right at home.
In order to practice, therapists need to know the history and experience of those they are facilitating for. To that end, all trainees are expected to bring a short biography that covers the essential elements of their lives, including present-day issues. These bios will be shared by all trainees in confidence.
Confidentiality is essential in creating the safety needed to fully express and integrate deep feelings. All trainees are expected to honour this requirement and to hold all information shared during this training in confidence.
